SilKnit™

Pure silk knitwear is smooth but delicate, while pure wool is warm with a heavier feel. Knitted together, the continuous silk filament keeps the surface smooth and polished while Merino brings warmth and breathability, creating a lighter knit with drape, softness and structure.

Mulberry silk gives SilKnit™ a smoother finish than conventional wool knitwear, helping it feel softer against the skin. Those with a known wool sensitivity may still prefer to test the knit before extended wear.

SilKnit™ holds natural warmth without the bulk of a heavier knit. Its breathable construction works comfortably on its own, over a light base layer or beneath a coat.

It comes from Bombyx mori silkworms fed exclusively on mulberry leaves, which produces a long, even, continuous filament rather than the shorter broken fibres of wild silk. Continuous filament is why the surface stays smooth instead of developing the slight fuzz of a spun staple yarn.

Every SilKnit™ piece is dry clean only. Do not iron, tumble dry or bleach. Between cleans, allow the knit to rest and air before folding it away, and always store it clean and completely dry.

Light pilling can occur with delicate natural fibres, particularly where the knit experiences friction. This is a normal part of wear rather than a sign that the material is failing.

Give SilKnit™ time to rest between wears. Lay it flat somewhere airy before folding it away, allowing the knit to settle back into shape naturally.

If something spills, blot the area gently with a clean, absorbent cloth. Avoid rubbing, soaking or applying stain removers at home.

Let your dry cleaner know the garment is a silk and Merino knit, and point out any stains or areas that may need particular attention.
